Life's a Photograph.
If I could tell the story in words, I wouldn't need to lug around a camera. -Lewis Hine

Exhilarating...
I'm back! When I created this blog I wasn't sure if I really wanted to put forth the time to update and keep up with it, so I decided to keep it on the down low for a while. This summer, though, my photography picked up quite a bit! So, this site is going to be for you to keep up with what's new in my adventures as a photographer!
This weekend was the first weekend back at ASU for everyone. And it confirmed that this year will be my best year yet! My dear friend of 15 or so years, Rachel, and her boyfriend, Ethan, transferred here this Fall. Rachel and I have only had 2 classes together in high school since KINDERGARDEN!! So, needless to say, we were both pretty stoked about this coming year of finally being reunited. We were inseparable in kindergarden and I am happy to say that nothing has changed since. It's kind of amazing how we haven't really grown apart as far as our relationship goes.
Anyways, we decided to go on a hiking adventure Saturday! It was such a perfect day for it, not too hot and not too cold. It began as a ride up the parkway to see the viaduct and ended with a 3 or so mile hike up the side of a mountain. As we made our way up, the wind kept picking up and by the time we were at the top it was pretty intense. However, it kept our adrenaline pumping and it's safe to say I have never felt so alive. It was literally breathtaking. So here are some photo's of this little adventure. We have decided to do this every weekend we are all up here, so I hope we can stay true to that!

Blogger....
I have never been much for keeping up with a diary or journal of sorts, but I have been looking for a way to get my photos and my intentions out there, and what better way to do so than a create a blog? To start, I'll tell you a bit about myself. I am currently an aspiring art teacher/photographer. Photography has been somewhat of a recent discovery of mine, however I have been obsessed with taking pictures and using a camera for a few years now. The recent discovery was that I MAY actually be able to make a career of this! I know there are so many amateur photographers out there who are as good, if not better than myself, but in my opinion there can never be enough photographers in the world. I have no professional training, or degree that classifies me as a professional, but I am just a person who loves to take pictures and loves to use photography as a form of art. I recently took a black and white photography class in the spring where we used a dark room and developed the film ourselves. When photographing in black and white you have to allow yourself to think in black and white. I learned the beauty of black and white. I have never been a "deep" person, or someone who puts meaning behind their art, but being in art school, it has become a requirement for most pieces we work on. I was forced to discover a deeper meaning behind my work, rather than carelessly taking a picture. Now, I have learned that behind the camera is me and my pictures reflect a piece of who I am and what I see from my eyes. Hopefully this blog can give you a little taste of what my work is all about!
